About this development
Construction of a pipeline to move petrol and diesel from Maputo to Nelspruit - Moz-Kendal pipeline. The project is driven by Petroline Holdings which is a consortium made up as follows: Woesa Consortium, an empowerment company supported by SA banks; Gigajoule International, the operator of 100km of pipelines in Mozambique; Petroleos De Mocambique (Petromoc), the state oil company and Companhia De Desenvolvimento de Petroleo Mocambique, a group of small private investors in Mozambique. Woesa stands for Women in Oil and Energy SA. Petroline RSA (Pty) Ltd has announced that the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) has issued a licence for the construction of a liquid petroleum pipeline from the border of Mozambique at Komatipoort to Kendal via Nelspruit. The license also includes the construction of a petroleum storage depot in the vicinity of Nelspruit. The project is budgeted to cost US$600 million.
