About this development
Development of a hotel with the proposed Madiba Convention Centre, which will extend from the intersection between Govan Mbeki Drive and Nelson Mandela Avenue to Sol Plaatjie Avenue on the western side. The hotel, including a restaurant, breakfast area and lounge will comprise 200 rooms and the conference centre and skills training academy will accommodate 1000 delegates in an auditorium-style venue with twelve break out rooms. The development will offer 120 one and two-bedroom apartments for extended stay. Offices, retail space for a coffee shop, bookstore and/or hairdresser, as well as a spa and gym have also been included. The total floor area is estimated to be between 39 800 and 65 000 square metres. Three open, landscaped plains with water features. The site of the development is located at the Madiba Banquet Halls along the N12, Potchefstroom, North West Province. Project value: R 400-million.
