About this development

Construction of the L'Ormarins Hydro Project on portion 1 of the Farm Waterfall 1159 near Franschhoek in the Stellenbosch District of the Western Cape. The project will include the construction of a water diversion weir (rock filled gabions); stainless steel pipeline (350mm diameter) from the weir to the Hydro Power Station (Length approxiamtely 790m x 1m wide); 2 x Hydro Power Stations of approximately 48 sqm each; a stainless steel pipeline (400mm diameter) from the Hydro Power Station to the 2nd Hydro Power Station (Length approximately 1025m x 1m wide); overhead high tension electrical line (570m x 4m wide) to link in with the existing lines into the Escom grid.
