Sasol Mining intends to establish a new surface coal mine to be known as Limpopo West Coal mine. The proposed mine is to be located in the Lephalale Municipality of the Limpopo Province on the following farms where Sasol Mining has prospecting rights: Duikerfontein 688LQ, Gannavlakte 299 LQ, Geelbekpan 226LQ, Groenfontein 250 LQ, Grootwater 218LQ, Ringbult 303 LQ, Valkfontein 264 LQ and 228 LQ.
