Lichtenburg 1 PV Facility

Construction of the 132MW Lichtenburg 1 PV facility and associated infrastructure on remaining extent of portion 2 of the farm Zamenkomst no. 4, Lichtenburg in the North West Province. The site is located approximately 12km north of Lichtenburg. The PV facility will comprise the following infrastructure: PV solar panels with a generation capacity of up to 132MW. Mounting structures to support the PV panels (utilising either fixed-tilt / static, single-axis tracking, or double-axis tracking systems). On-site inverters to convert the power from direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC) and an on-site 132kV substation to facilitate the connection between the solar energy facility and the Eskom electricity grid. A new 132kV power line between the on-site substation and the Eskom grid connection point. Cabling between the project’s components (to be laid underground where practical). Auxiliary buildings such as offices and workshop areas for maintenance and storage. Temporary lay down areas. Internal access roads and perimeter security fencing around the development area.
