About this development

The Government of the Republic of Botswana through the Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources has applied for financing from the Multi-Donor Trust Fund for Cooperation in International Waters in Africa (CIWA), administered by the World Bank, toward the cost of a study for the possibilities of drawing water from Lesotho to Botswana. The works for the Lesotho-Botswana Water Transfer (L-BWT) project consist of three major infrastructure components: the storage dam, the hydropower facilities, and the massive conveyance system The exact co-ordinates are currently not available however the approximate area of location is -29.8599221, 27.6230232.
