About this development
Construction of a 56MW greenfields methane-fired power plant in Rubavu District on a peninsula near Busoro, approximately 10 km south of Rubavu, Rwanda. The project consists of the development, construction, operation and maintenance of four offshore barges for the capture and compression of methane, an underwater pipeline, an onshore gas plant, and a 56 MW greenfields methane-fired power plant consisting of 19 x 4MW caterpillar generator sets. The Project will be an Independent Power Producer, generating an average of 428 GWh annually for sale to the state-owned Electricity Utility Corporation Ltd. under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement.
