About this development

Construction of a Science and Technology Innovation Park (STIP) for KwaZulu-Natal in the area surrounding the Vibration Research and Testing Centre (VRTC) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban. The proposed park will consist of an already existing VRTC, a world class, R6,8 million investment consisting of a 95m-long temperature-regulated laboratory, a high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) centre and an infrared centre, already developed by Eskom. It will also feature a power and energy technology museum and a power delivery, maintenance and application centre (PDMAC). Estimated Value: R20 million.
