The Kwale Mineral Sands project is located in Kenya, East Africa, approximately 40km south of Mombasa. The roject is expected to be one of the top producers of ilmenite and rutile in the world and is expected to generate $1billion in revenues over its lifetime of 11 years. The proposed mining method for Kwale deposit includes the use of continuous mining techniques, bucket wheel excavators and overland conveyors. Estimated project cost $310 million.
