About this development
Kwadukuza Beach Restoration Project - Phase 2, KwaZulu-Natal. Includes supporting the embankments through soft engineering defense systems; constructing a wooden promenade over as much of the old length as will be allowed; constructing strategic accesses onto the promenade from properties along the beach front; formalizing existing emergency access ways and platforms and constructing public access ways and dolphin viewing platforms, including those relating to the proposed wooden promenade; re-instating storm water headwalls, storm water pipelines and sewage pipelines; creating additional parking mainly along Compensation Beach Road and Edward Place; demolishing Clarke Bay Lifesavers building and erecting new facilities; demolishing ablution facilities and pump stations; upgrading existing or establishing new ablution facilities, pump stations with emergency generators and sewage pipelines; re-instating tidal pools, e.g. Thompson's Bay and access there to e.g. Granny's pool.
