About this development

Construction of the Klippoort Solar Photovoltaic Energy Facility on Portions 2, 3, and 4 of the Farm Klippoort Number 277 JS; and the Remaining Extent of Portion 2, Remaining Extent of Portion 10, Portions 15, 16, and 24 of Farm Hartbeestspruit Number 281 JS, approximately 15km north-west from eMalahleni in Mpumalanga. The solar PV facility will comprise of PV modules and mounting structures, inverters and transformers, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), IPP (facility) substation and Eskom switching station, site and internal access roads (between 6 and 10m wide), internal cabling to link the facility, operation and maintenance buildings including a gate house, ablution facilities, security building, control centre, offices, warehouses and workshops for storage and maintenance and temporary and permanent laydown area and will have a contracted capacity of up to 220MW and will cover approximately 500ha. The GPS has been estimated at Farm Klippoort 25°43'50.3"S 29°07'27.0"E
