About this development
Development by De Beers of Kimberley Big Hole and the Mining Museum into world class tourist park. Phase 1 of the development project includes the refurbishment of some of the existing buildings into a 13-roomed guest house (R2,3 million), a car park (R3,8 million), and other entertainment facilities, all amounting to R16,8 million. Phase 2 of the project, amounting to R32,91 million consists of the development of a visitor centre which will focus on the story of the Big Hole, De Beers and Diamonds. The creation of further retail opportunities, an upgraded viewing facility and a proposal for a spectacular, world-class display of rough diamonds will also be included. Kimberley, Northern Cape.
