Project overview
About this development
Raising of the Keerom Dam spillway to reclaim the loss in water storage capacity due to siltation, the dam is located approximately 22km north east of Worcester, in the Western Cape. The proposed raising includes an increase in water storage capacity from less that 9.1 cubic metres to 9.8 cubic metres and in water surface from approximately 92ha to 112ha. The raising of the dam will result in the inundation of two existing low level bridges (i.e. on the Koo River and Huiswater / Raaswater Rivers), and will therefore require the realignment of these access roads at the affected locations. Value R5.5 million. GPS Coordinates: -33.578889, 19.704999999999927.
