KaXu Solar One - Infrastructure

Construction of services and infrastructure for the proposed KaXu Solar One, 30km north-east of the town Pofadder in the Northern Cape which falls within the Khai-Ma Local Municipality. The scope of works includes: trough plants, power plants, PV plants, a steam turbine and generator housed within a 2-storey building, a generator transformer and small substation outside the building, energy storage plant and vessels, water supply pipeline/s to the facility and an extraction point on the Gariep (Orange) River, water treatment plant, blow down pond (for wastewater), an overhead power line, access roads to the site and a workshop, office and storage area. The site covers an area of approximately 33km², which is much larger that the development footprint for the proposed facility so the facility can therefore be appropriately placed within the larger site.
