Project overview
About this development
The Kamoa North Project is a newly discovered, very large, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi in the DRC in Central Africa. This project falls within the Kamoa-Kakula area. The new estimate ranks Kamoa as Africa's largest high-grade copper discovery and the world's largest undeveloped high-grade copper discovery. Ivanplast is proposing two principal phases of development: Phase 1 will target production of high-grade copper mineralization from shallow, underground resources to yield a hgih-value concentrate; Phase 2 entails a major expansion of the mine and mill, as well as the construction of a large smelter. The exact co-ordinates are currently not available however the approximate area of location is lat: -10.788965; long: 25.2312012.
