A scoping study on the Kalongwe project has indicated the potential for an economically viable robust and standalone project. The project is located in the Katanga Province in the DRC. It is 15km from Kamoa, considered to be Africa’s largest recent high-grade copper discovery which boasts an Indicated Mineral Resource of 739 million tonnes grading 2.67% Cu and 45km from the historic copper mining and processing centre at Kolwezi. The development of the project will require investment in several areas - an on-site power plant, road upgrades, a camp or accommodation and a water supply. Capital expenditure : $53.12 million.
