About this development
Construction of two reinforced concrete pump stations in Jamestown, Eastern Cape province. One pumping effluent from Jamestown and the other pumping effluent from Masakhane. Both pump stations will each house two submersible pumps which will pump effluent to the recently completed waste water treatment works. The Jamestown pump station has a pump sump of internal dimensions of approximately 5m x 5m x 6m deep. The Masakhane pump station has a pump sump of internal dimensions of approximately 7m x 7m x 5.5m deep. Both the pump stations have a silt trap and dimminutor chamber. Mechanical / Electrical equipment (pumps, dimminutors, MC board etc. form part of this contact) two pump houses to house electrical switchgear and associated road works. This project forms part of the Jamestown Bucket Eradication and Sanitation project.
