About this development
Rehabilitation of Isebania – Kisii – Ahero A1 Road in Kenya. The project design also entails improvement of 78 km of feeder roads linking the project road with markets, social, administrative and educational centers such as the: Oyugis - Kendu Bay Road C26 (20km), Oyugis - Rangwe-Rodi Kopany Road C18 (30km), Oyugis -Gamba Road (7km), Misambi - Ekerenyo Road (15km) and Sondu - Nyabondo Complex Road (6km). Improvement of loop roads, service roads and access roads in townships and to various schools / institutions. Approximate quantities of works to be executed are - site clearance - 400ha; earthworks - 1 739 000m³; improved subgrade material - 785 000m³; cement or lime treated natural material sub-base - 125 000m³; graded crushed stone base - 125 000m³; dense bitumen macadam base - 187 000m³; asphalt concrete binder course surfacing - 63 000m³; concrete pipe culverts - 10100m; concrete for pipes and lined drains - 9 950m³; concrete for box culverts and bridges - 14 500m³; steel reinforcement - 1 400 ton and cement for stabilisation - 9 100 ton.
