IPD Velddrif Wind Energy Facility

Construction of a wind energy facility which would potentially consist of in excess of approximately 173 wind turbines, with a total capacity of 519 MW. Each turbine would generate approximately 3 MW. As part of the proposed project, one transmission line of 132 kVA is also proposed to be constructed, which would connect into the Eskom 400 kVA grid that that runs across the western portion of Farm Doornfontein and cuts the south eastern corner of the Farm Kruispad. The proposed wind farm will be on the farms Kruispad, Doornfontein, Grootvlei, Vissershof and Woesteheuwel, near Velddrif, in the Bergrivier Local Municipality, in the Western Cape.
