Interchange on the N2 freeway at Kwambonambi

The South African National Roads Agency Ltd (SANRAL) is proposing to establish an interchange on the N2 freeway at Kwambonambi, North of Richard's Bay, in KwaZulu-Natal. The project involves the construction of a new 4-span bridge over the N2 and approach fills and pavement layers for all the ramps; realignment of P232 across the N2 over a distance of 1km, including tying into the local roads in the area; provision of taxi lay-byes and pedestrian facilities within the interchange precinct; provision for the future widening of the N2 to a 4-lane or possibly 6-lane undivided carriageway; extending of existing, and construction of new drainage structures; and road signage and markings.
