About this development
Construction of a new melting furnace (CDR3) at Hulamin Camps Drift facility, Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. At present Hulamin Camps Drift facility in Pietermaritzburg, receive aluminium ingots from the Bayside casthouse facility. Due to potential changes in the delivery of raw material to the plant and in order to ensure that Hulamin can maintain their current operations and productivity they are proposing to upgrade their current facilities at the Camps Drift site. The upgrades will include upgrading the Flexible Recycling Remelt and installing a new melting furnace. (Camps Drift Remelt 3 or CDR3). The CDR3 will be constructed on the existing site and will require an expansion of the current warehouse by approximately 30sqm. This expansion will remain within the boundaries of the Camps Drift site and no new access roads will need to be constructed.
