About this development
Consolidation of three properties and re-development of the existing heritage buildings on Erven 4507, 4508 and 4509 into a mixed use commercial and hotel development in the Cape Town CBD, Western Cape. The construction will add additional floors to the existing heritage buildings. The consolidated site of 2729m² is known as the City block of Adderley/Longmarket/Shortmarket Streets and St Georges Mall. The buildings are: First National Bank at 82 Adderley Street, Erf 4509, African Bank at 81 Shortmarket Street, Erf 4508 and Nedbank at St Georges Mall, Erf 4507. Four new levels will be added to the First National Bank and Africa Bank sites whilst 1.5 levels will be added to Nedbank building. The existing basements will be inter-connected and utilised for back of house. At ground floor level, uses will be retail, hotel foyer, and restaurant. The upper levels will be a mix of hotel use as rooms, offices and conferencing. In addition, there will be commercial offices. The top floor (8th level) will contain a restaurant with covered roof terraces. The GPS coordinates are 33°55'24.4"S 18°25'16.5"E.
