About this development
The construction of a new stadium at Green Point in Cape Town for the 2010 World Cup. The stadium is an all-weather, multipurpose stadium situated in the suburb of Green Point in Western Cape. The Green Point stadium would be a "totally new facility", and will include a dome that can be closed in bad weather. The stadium will have capacity for 68 000 spectators. Original project value was: R2.4 billion. It will now cost R953 million more, coming in at R3.3 billion. Current estimated value is now R4 billion.
