About this development
Biotech Energy (Pty) Ltd is proposing to establish a Green Energy Plant near Tweedie, Howick, KwaZulu-Natal. The proposed process involves the installation of a biomass (plantation residue) fueled power facility that utilizes high pressure superheated steam and a steam turbine driven generator to generate up to 6.5MWe of green power. It is proposed the approximately 1.8MWe of the energy will be used to power the Green Energy Plant and associated facilities. The property, Remainder of Portion 6 of the Farm Allermans Drift No 950, is located along a dirt road which is approximately 100 metres from the N3 Freeway Tweedie (R103) interchange, towards Howick.
