Greater Maputo Water Supply Expansion Project, Mozambique

Expansion of the Maputo water supply infrastructure. The project includes the construction of a new water treatment station at Umbeluzi, the construction of smaller water systems in areas not covered by the current network. The water supply which current benefits 670,000 consumers will be able to cover one and half million following this project, an increase from the current coverage of 40 percent to 70 percent of the total population expected to exceed two million by 2010.
