Grand Central Wynberg - Retail

Construction of a retail component for Grand Central Wynberg, on a 7017m² site, at 155 Main Road, Wynberg, in the Western Cape. It is currently partially occupied by a number of shops, the art deco 1920s façades of which will be incorporated in the overall design so as to preserve the village atmosphere of the Wynberg High Street trading precinct. Grand Central Wynberg will consist of three large similar residential blocks, all with a retail component on the ground floor. The initial phase will be a 7 storey building which will have 414 apartments, 414 parking bays and 1700m² of retail space, 80% of the ground floor will be devoted to parking and 20% to retail. The first phase will consist of 78 x 2 bedroom apartments from 54m² - 65m², 204 studio units from 30m², and 132 x 1 bedroom units of 35m². Grand Central Wynberg, will have top level security, with a concierge in the foyer and electronic controls to the parking garage entrance. Value: R230 million.
