About this development
Construction of a new multi - level academic conference centre and associated external works at the University of Cape Town, Graduate School of Business (GSB), V&A Waterfront Campus, Cape Town, in the Western Cape. The work will incorporate the construction of a 200 - seater basement lecture theatre, above - ground lecture and research rooms; and social spaces, all distributed over four levels and measuring approximately 2 600m²: The building is designed as a Green Star 4 rating facility and will incorporate the following: Bulk excavation for basement approximately 900m², basement construction including ground anchors and reinforced concrete retaining walls, reinforced concrete foundations and structure to ground, first and second floors, structural steel structure with glazed facade to second floor, domestic plumbing, electrical distribution and air - conditioning services, concrete and steel roof structure with metal sheeting and skylights, external paving and landscaping. Approximately R82 million.
