Project overview
About this development
Construction of the Akwaba Hotel (also known as the Golden Tulip) in Zone 4 Marcory, Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Project is estimated to cost 91.4 million €. The project is built on a 15 600 m² surface area, the building itself is a 17-storey, 205 room hotel which includes shops, offices, a spa/fitness centre, a conference centre and a bar/lounge with a rooftop pool. The garden base, in the middle of the two adjacent volumes, represents the heart of the project. To the east of the hotel will accommodate the restaurant and the conference centre. The western part of the plot will be able to accommodate three office buildings of varied layout and irregular angles to distance them from the existing and future buildings in the vicinity. The lowest volumes, acting as pavilions inserted in a park, are covered with a green roof. On the rooftop, a wooden terrace frames the swimming pool. On a simple and rational geometrical grid, the façade is structured with a thousand and one vertical white slats, a real protective envelope. The project site is located behind Boulevard Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, the main road linking Abidjan airport to the Marcory district, the GPS coordinates are 5.2887927, -3.9825929
