About this development
Installation of a 200 mm diameter gravity sewer pipeline of approximately 3km long from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (Saasveld Campus) sewage treatment works to the George Municipality’s Welgelegen sewer pump station. A small pump station, approximately 20m², will also be constructed at the Swart River to pump the sewerage from the river up to the Welgelegen pump station. The trench for the pipeline will be about 1m deep and 1m wide with a ±7.5m wide working strip. The Saasveld Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTW) is located on the property of the Saasveld Campus which is situated in the magisterial town of George, in the Western Cape.
