About this development
Development of the Geelstert 2 Solar photovoltaic facility, with a contracted capacity of up to 125MW located on the Remaining Extent of the Farm Bloemhoek 61, 11km south-east of Aggeneys within the Khâi-Ma Local Municipality, and the Namakwa District Municipality, Northern Cape. The facilities will be connected to the Aggeneis MTS via a collector substation and an overhead power line with a capacity of up to 220kV. The projects fall within the Springbok Renewable Energy Development Zone (or REDZ 8) as well as the Northern Strategic Transmission Corridor. The GPS marker has been placed on Farm Bloemhoek 61, -29.307949, 18.940271 to 29°18'08.7"S 18°57'23.8"E
