About this development
Construction of the 125MW Geelstert 1 Solar photovoltaic facility located on the Remaining Extent of the Farm Bloemhoek 61, 11km south-east of Aggeneys within the Khâi-Ma Local Municipality, and the Namakwa District Municipality, Northern Cape. The facilities will be connected to the Aggeneis MTS via a collector substation and an overhead power line with a capacity of up to 220kV and the project falls within the Springbok Renewable Energy Development Zone (REDZ 8) as well as the Northern Strategic Transmission Corridor. The exact co-ordinates are on Farm Bloemhoek: 29°18'01.7"S 18°56'39.8"E.
