About this development
Construction of parking facilities, an informal trading area and monuments in the Henrietta and Terry streets area, Pietermaritzburg Central, which form part of the new Freedom Square Precinct Development Project. The development, which has received funding of over R55 million, is envisaged to become a prime tourist destination. It includes the taxi rank, which is near completion, parking facilities for provincial legislature members and the uMgungundlovu District Municipality, an informal trading area and monuments. The precinct stretches from Boshoff Street to Chief Albert Luthuli (Commercial) Street, Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal.
