Project overview
About this development
Foskor is undertaking a R1.2 billion expansion project at the Phalaborwa Phosphate Mine in Limpopo. The infrastructure and technology at the open cast mine is ageing and this, coupled with the depletion of foskorite stockpiles, has necessitated the capital expenditure. PEP 2 will add extra pyroxenite milling capacity of 200 000 t/y to feed Extension 8's flotation circuit. PEP 2 is estimated to cost about R652 million.
