About this development
Development of a fibre optic based national transmission network from Johannesburg to Cape Town in order to accommodate the growing demand for transmission capacity. MTN and Neotel, in partnership, intends to co-build infrastructure for the fibre optic based national transmission network. This activity will take place within the existing National/ Provincial/ Municipal Road Reserve. The optic fibre will be installed by means of one of the following methods: plough in of cables, direct burial method, directional drilling method. Johannesburg in Gauteng to Cape Town in Western Cape.
