About this development
Expansion project at the Eland Mine will comprise the establishment of a second concentrator plant, upgrading water and waste management facilities and upgrading of various support infrastructure and services. Eland Mine is an opencast mine, situated approximately 10km south east of Brits in the Madibeng Local Municipal District in the North West Province. The proposed expansion project will be located mainly on mine property of the farm Elandsfontein 440 JQ. A section of the proposed water supply pipeline will cross portions of the farm De Kroon 444 JQ. The total cost of the project is expected to be about R1.1 billion.
