About this development
Expansion of the Port of Walvis Bay Container Terminal, in Walvis Bay, Namibia. The main goal of the project is to strategically expand the Walvis Bay Container Terminal in order to cater for container volumes as well as create additional capacity to cater for additional transhipment volumes by 2015. The project is split into two phases. Phase I will be implemented with a total new quay length of 350 metres by approximately 400 metres of backup stacking area (350x400m). Phase II of the project is just doubling of Phase I and will see another 350 metres of new quay length being added with 400 metres of backup stacking capacity and two new ship-to- shore cranes. Estimated value: NAD 3.9 billion.
