About this development
Kalumbila Minerals Limited proposes to develop a nickel open pit mine project to be called Enterprise Project, about 150km west of Solwezi central business district in the north-western province of Zambia. The Enterprise project involves exploitation of a nickel sulphide ore deposit and consequent production of nickel concentrate. The proposed project is to include the following major activities: clearing of vegetation and top soil, earthworks including preparations of foundations and backfilling; construction / installation of processing and support facilities, mine dewatering, mining by blasting and excavation, transport and storage of mineral ore, crushing, milling and processing of the nickel ore, waste management and auxiliary activities. The total project cost is estimated at approximately US$100 million
