Project overview
About this development
Richards Bay Minerals (RBM) proposes to install a 34 megawatt electricity co-generation facility at their smelter works located close to Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal. The facility will comprise multiple waste-gas-fueled engines that will drive alternators and thereby generate electricity. The electricity will feed into RBM's internal distribution systems for internal consumption. The waste-gas is available as a by-product from the smelters on a continuous basis.
