About this development
Establishment of the new Eland Platinum mine which is situated on the farm Elandsfontein 440 JQ, on the Western Limb of the Bushveld Igneous Complex near Brits, in the North West province. The mine is in the development stage and the total cost of the project is expected to be some R1,1-billion. Underground development will take place while the openpit material is being processed and a gradual transition to underground ore will occur as the openpit reserves are depleted.
