About this development
Construction of the 150MW Edison Solar PV Energy Facility and associated infrastructure, located on Portion 2 of the Farm Matjeskuil 733 and Portion 2 of the Farm Hercules Pilaar 1242, near Durbanville, Cape Town, Western Cape. The development includes a 150MW solar PV facility and 800MWh BESS. The associated infrastructure for the facility includes: Solar PV arrays, modules, and mounting structures; Inverters and transformers; Cabling between the project components, to be routed underground where applicable; Battery Energy Storage System (BESS); on-site substation and switching substation; 66kV OHL to connect to the Joostenberg Substation; site and access roads up to 10m in width, where required; temporary (including crushing and concrete batching area) and permanent laydown areas, O&M buildings, security infrastructure and fencing around the development area. The GPS co-ordinates are 33°47'52.7"S 18°45'31.2"E.
