Edgars Sandton City Reconfiguration - Phase 2

Construction works for the Edgars Sandton City reconfiguration project, Shop P11, Sandton City Shopping Centre, 83 Rivonia Road, Sandhurst, Sandton, Gauteng. Edgars are vacating the balance of their trading area occupied on Level 4, and a portion of their storage space on Level 2. Existing tenants within Sandton City will be relocating to the newly sub-divided retail at Level 4. With the movement of these tenants into this space, there are further tenant movements and store reconfigurations, at both Level 4 and Level 6. Scope of works within the Edgars area are as follows: Level 2 - remove escalators from level 2 to level 4; construct new demising wall; reconfiguration excise space into new storeroom, (construction area 776.7m²) Level 4 scope - remove escalators from level 4 to level 6; structurally infill void at level 4; create new tenant shops on level 4 per the plans, (construction area 2712.43m²). Level 5 scope - reconfigure admin layout. Demolish a portion of the suspended slab per the plans, (construction area 87m²). Level 6 scope - hoarding installed around the circulation atrium at level 6; structurally infill voids at level 6, (construction area 327.4m²) Level 7 scope - remove skylight over the circulation atrium, structurally infill the void, waterproof over as per the plans (construction area 65m²). Scope of works outside the Edgars area are as follows: Level 6 - shops U42 - U48 reconfigure layout to suit new tenancies, including stripping to base build, rebuild demising walls, etc. Level 6 - shop U62B, straighten lease line, which will involve alterations to mall ceilings and floors.
