About this development
Development of the Dwaalkop Platinum Mine near Lebowakgomo in Limpopo. In order for this project to be viable, associated activities will be undertaken on the existing Baobab Shaft to the west and the proposed Doornvlei Mine to the east. The majority of the underground mining activities will take place on Dwaalkop Mine. Six decline shafts with portals at the surface and associated up and downcast ventilation shafts will be constructed. Ore will be transported via overland conveyor to the adjoining Baobab Shaft for processing. The mine will contain new offices, stores and a workshop complex as well as a power supply and access roads. Six waste rock dumps will also be constructed on the mine.
