Project overview
About this development
Sovereign Metals is exploring the highly prospective Central Malawi Graphite Project (“CMGP”), located in Malawi, near the capital city of Lilongwe. The CMGP is surrounded by established infrastructure including high capacity power lines, rail, roads and a port which is currently undergoing a major expansion. The Project is composed of three tenements totalling 7 261km² in area. A number of substantial flake graphite gneiss belts have been identified within the CMGP Licences. A Heli-VTEM survey conducted in late 2012 over 4 000 line kilometres confirmed potential strike length of graphite gneisses in excess of 200 kilometres. The largest and apparently highest grade flake graphite prospect is at Duwi, which forms part of the Duwi Trend. The company commenced trenching and drilling at the Duwi Prospect in mid-2013. -13.945346707146669, 33.92866457913611
