About this development
The project aims to increase current production of ferrochrome at the Dilokong chrome mine to 365 000t/y. The plan is to build a 1,2 million ton-a-year benefication plant, a 600 000t/y pelletising and sintering plant, two 66MVA closed submerged arc furnaces fitted with preheaters, and a raw materials handling and batching facility. The plant will produce 600 000t/y of chromite pellets. Dilokong is located 125km south of Polokwane and 27km west of the Steelpoort railway station on the farm Mooihoek in the Limpopo Province.
