About this development
The Dikgatlhong Dam will be the largest dam in Botswana with a capacity of 400 million cubic meters of water and an annual yield of 62 million cubic meters of water. The dam is being built on the confluence of the Shashe and Tati Rivers, about 3km from the border with Zimbabwe and about 50km north-east of Selebi Phikwe. The Dikgatlhong dam wall is to be random fill earth embankment with a clay core, founded on bedrock, and will be approximately 4,5 km long, and the maximum height is 41 m above river bed level.
