Design Park

Establishment of a Design Park, which would form part of the innovation district in Cape Town, in the Western Cape. The park will comprise three key interlinked components, a centre of skills excellence in design and informatics, facilities and services to enhance and support innovation linkages between academia and businesses and a design museum. The West Campus adjacent to Cape Peninsula University of Technology’s Cape Town Campus had been identified as the site for construction of the Design Park, bidders were also to evaluate other suitable sites. The one criterion is that the park has to be located in, or reasonably near, the Fringe precinct.
