About this development

A detailed proposal has been put to the provincial Freight Logistics Forum with regard to upgrading De Aar’s already important status as a major railway junction. De Aar has 110km of existing rail lines. A plan is being investigated to turn De Aar, in the Northern Cape, into a freight transport hub. This is in line with national government plans to get the bulk of the country’s freight off the overused road network and back onto trains. The exact co-ordinates are currently not available however the approximate area of location is -30.6766303, 24.0131202
