About this development
Cradle City will be situated on 912ha of land around Lanseria International Airport, on the intersection of Malibongwe Drive and the N14 which falls within the jurisdiction of the City of Johannesburg and Mogale City Local Municipality, Johannesburg, Gauteng. The proposed Cradle City will be a mix of residential (3 200 000m²), commercial & warehousing (1 140 000m²), offices (2 200 000m²), retail (700 000m²), hotel and entertainment (208 000m²), restored wetlands and environmental (2 600 000m²). The City will be built on green principles over 6 phases. Solar electricity will power all street and traffic lights, although the City will also be connected to Eskom's national electricity grid. Phase 1 is the Cradle City Business Park on a 79ha site which will have a mix of 300 000m² of light Industrial, warehousing and distribution space, between 5 000m² and 10 000m² of retail, in excess of 140 000m² of office and business space and a Hotel development of 10 000m² as well as a restored wetland area - Retail
