About this development
Construction of Nuno - Modogashe Road (C81) in Kenya. The works consists of upgrading of the 135 km existing road to a bituminized, two - lane single carriageway rural road, including 105m span bridge. The scope of works also includes: (1) Clearing and grubbing sections of the road:162 ha. (2) Construction of storm water culverts (900 mm diameter culverts) :3 800m. (3) Construction of reinforced concrete for box culverts:10 200m³. (4) Earthworks. (5) Cut to spoil in soft material 135 000m³. (6) Excavation in hard material 114 000m³. (7) Fill in soft material 1 500 000m³. (8) Fill in hard material 67 500m³. (9) Cement improved sub-base 303 000m³. (10) Cement improved base 225 000m³. (11) Asphalt concrete surfacing 68 000m³. (12). Bus bays, road markings, road signs, guardrails, landscaping and fencing. (13) Construction of reinforced concrete bridge, 105 meter span. Estimated project value : KSHs 7.2 billion
