Construction of New Wami Bridge, Tanzania

This project is for the construction of New Wami Bridge and its associated roads. The Wami Bridge is located in the Coast Region about 46.9 km from Chalinze junction along the Chalinze – Segera road in Tanzania. The existing bridge is approximately 88.75m long single lane steel structure comprising of 3 spans of 21.75m, 45.6m and 21.4m. The structure is multi span continuous steel trusses with a concrete deck and reinforced concrete piers and abutments. The existing Wami Bridge is located at a location with steep slopes and unsafe curves which are noted to be the main causative of the dangerous accidents happening frequently at the bridge and within the approaches.
